How we support foster and disconnected youth

ElevateU is a Student Support Services Program that helps foster youth and disconnected youth ages 16–26* build a path toward independence. We offer job training, paid internships, academic support, and access to college or living-wage employment. Our goal is to empower students through wraparound services like counseling, tutoring, transportation, and emergency housing support.

Program Eligibility

  • Must reside in California
  • Opportunity Youth: Young people who are disconnected from school and work
  • Foster Youth: Dependency ward/of the court letter may be required
  • Between the ages of 16 to 26 years
  • Be under care at the beginning of the academic year or attend a Promises2Kids or Community College NextUp program
  • Be enrolled in an SDCCE GED/HiSET, CTE Program, CBE, or internship/job
  • Maintain satisfactory progress in classes
