How we support foster and disconnected youth
ElevateU is a Student Support Services Program that helps foster youth and disconnected
youth ages 16–26* build a path toward independence. We offer job training, paid internships,
academic support, and access to college or living-wage employment. Our goal is to
empower students through wraparound services like counseling, tutoring, transportation,
and emergency housing support.

of our active students receive support resources such as laptops, transportation assistance, hygiene items, groceries, and other basic needs.

of our students have progressed through their ESL courses, CTE programs, and have received their High School Equivalency.
Program Eligibility
- Must reside in California
- Opportunity Youth: Young people who are disconnected from school and work
- Foster Youth: Dependency ward/of the court letter may be required
- Between the ages of 16 to 26 years
- Be under care at the beginning of the academic year or attend a Promises2Kids or Community College NextUp program
- Be enrolled in an SDCCE GED/HiSET, CTE Program, CBE, or internship/job
- Maintain satisfactory progress in classes
