Juneteenth

Thursday, June 19, 2025 (All day)

All campuses will be closed on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in observance of Juneteenth. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. It is a day to honor African American freedom, reflect on the legacy of slavery, and celebrate Black culture, resilience, and contributions to American history. Normal campus operations will resume on Monday, June 23.
