SDCCE scholarship application deadline is Friday, February 6, 2026, at 5:00PM

One Application Unlocks Eligibility for Dozens of Scholarship and Award Opportunities

Students must meet the following minimum application requirements to be eligible:

  • Currently-enrolled student for the 2025-2026 academic year at SDCCE
  • Attend 100 hours or more of SDCCE classes during the Spring 2025, Summer 2025 and/or Fall 2025 Semesters
  • Demonstrate satisfactory attendance and progress in courses
  • Complete the online scholarship application, including a personal response to one of the essay prompts below

Essay Prompts

Choose one of the following prompts for your application:

  1. Describe the new chances or opportunities this scholarship would give you, and how you would use them well.
  2. Think about the good change you want to create for your family, community, or future career. How will your education help you create that change?
  3. Describe a time when you spoke up or shared your thoughts about something that mattered to you. What did that experience teach you? How do you use that experience in continuing your education?
  4. Talk about a time when your background or who you are affected the way you saw a situation. How did this help you understand diversity better, and how has that influenced your education and experiences here at SDCCE?
  5. Did you ever work on a project to help your community? How did it make things better, and what did you learn from it?

Some scholarships have additional qualifications for eligibility based on identifying information you include in your application, including demographic data and courses taken.

Scholarship Application Support Available

Students seeking assistance with the personal statement/essay portion of their application may contact the Tutoring & Learning Center (TLC), located in Room 76 at the Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) or Room 317 at the Mid-City Campus. Hours for each location are as follows:

Access to Tutoring Services requires enrollment in a specified tutoring course. Please make sure you are fully eligible to enroll for courses (including clearing any holds or other To-Do List items) prior to visiting the TLC.

Qualifying students will be selected based upon responses to demographic, academic, or other information self-reported on the application; details regarding qualifiers is available from the Office of Student Affairs.

Scholarship and Awards Celebration

Students who are selected to receive a scholarship or award will be recognized and invited to participate at our annual Scholarship and Awards Celebration.
