Dear SDCCE Community,
College-Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) training has begun! Before, during, and after disasters, CERT volunteer teams perform basic response activities, including checking in on neighbors, distributing information to the public, supporting emergency operations centers, and helping to manage traffic and crowds. This week and next, San Diego College of Continuing Education team members will be undergoing specified training in adopting the CERT model to the college environment. We are committed to ensuring our employees are trained and prepared in case of any emergency, included weather phenomenons such as the flooding San Diego experienced earlier this January. Employees who have yet to sign up can register for next week's training below!
Dates: August 12, 2024 to August 14, 2024 (3 day training)
Time: All day - 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: In-person @ ECC Room 169
Register for C-CERT training
Remember, preparedness is the key to safety. You are not only protecting yourself but also contributing to the safety of our entire institution.
Thank you for your commitment to safety!

The CCFC Professional Design Awards are presented annually at the CCFC Conference, in conjunction with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. In addition to outstanding architectural design, awards are given based on merit, honor and excellence. Each project recognized incorporates outstanding institutional features that enhance the community college learning environment.
What an incredible honor!

Dr. Tami Foy, our Executive Director of the SDCCE Foundation, attended the recent Rotary 33 event, featuring Chancellor Gregory Smith as guest speaker! The event was hosted by the San Diego Rotary Club, which brings together some of the city’s most well known civic, business and community leaders to meet weekly for fellowship and service. Since 1911, San Diego Rotary has been providing San Diego’s leadership with an opportunity to connect with others toward the common goal of improving the community in which we work and live, as well as the world beyond.
I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Rachel Rose has accepted to serve as the Interim Dean of Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Clothing and Textile and Child Development!
