It was wonderful to welcome a group from the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) to SDCCE. We are proud to be a model for adult education and workforce development and to share with other colleagues nationwide. The HCDE group was incredibly impressed with the programming, the facilities, and most importantly, the dedicated people who work at SDCCE.

President's Updates

It was great to be in community at the Annual COLEGAS Conference hosted in Sacramento, CA. I appreciated connecting with my colegas in the field and all of the beautiful information shared to further support our students and community.
I would like to congratulate Mariah Jameson and SDCCD alumni for her appointment to the San Diego Community College Board of Trustees. Mariah will represent our area and is a graduate from City College and former Umoja student. I look forward to welcoming Mariah as she steps into this new role. She has an amazing story and will be a great advocate for our students and community.
On the flip side, it was bittersweet to say thank you and farewell to long-standing Board Trustees, Bernie Rhinerson and Mary Graham. They have given so much to our district over the years and it was wonderful to recognize and thank them for their years of service. They will truly be missed!
